As a junior at The University of Texas at Dallas, I am currently majoring in psychology on the pre-physician’s assistant track in hopes that I will one day be able to pursue a career as a PA with a specialty in psychiatry. As someone who is very compassionate and hard-working, I aspire to relieve the stigma around mental health and help those struggling with mental disorders be able to earn a higher quality of life and receive effective treatment. Not only was I a research director at my previous school's Psychology Club, but I have put effort into expanding my knowledge of psychology by taking AP psychology, achieving high scores within the class, and by currently working towards completing an online psychology course with Yale University in order to achieve a Certificate of Completion. I have always had a passion for helping others, as shown by my being a National Honor Society Co-president for three years and by my volunteering at a retirement home. My life revolves around providing services to others in hopes that I can make the world a better place.Due to my ambitious nature, not only am I pursuing psychology, but I am also minoring in business administration. Minoring in business administration will not only make me a more well-rounded individual, but it will help me pursue a better understanding of how the medical field overlaps with healthcare management. Many of my past work experiences highlight and revolve around my ability to be able to properly communicate, problem-solve, and collaborate.
