Assistant Transport Modeller/Planner

As a member of the Traffic and Transportation team I was responsible for the accessibility planning and mapping, traffic modelling and design of transport schemes.Key Experience:Telford Major Scheme Business Case (LSTF)I had major input into the modelling aspect for Telford’s Major Scheme Business case. I liaised with my Senior Transport Planner on producing VISSIM models by transferring data from VISUM and then extracting network performance statistics and queue lengths for analysis. I also had involvement within the highway design, where I had input into how operations would work across the scheme and where I felt a benefit could be achieved. Central Telford Area Action Plan (CTAAP): I was responsible for analysing committed and CTAAP developments trip generation. I was also responsible for production of detailed design series drawings, identification of cycle route facilities including signs and markings. Review of signalised roundabout layout including road markings. This all lead to gathering various data sources to produce detailed statistics of flows and costing's at required Peak times.Telford VISUM Strategic ModelI was responsible for analysing RSI's, car parks, Automatic Traffic Counts and Manual Classified Counts. This required the use of GIS software (MapInfo) to code map origins and destinations of traffic.Luton Town Centre Transportation SchemeThe Luton project had very demanding timescales for the completion of the project, which were met. I worked extensively in all areas of the production of the scheme, producing a Paramics LMVR and data Report. Analysed data sources to produce detailed flows and TEE tables for the reports.A38 & A50_A500 Corridor StudyI assisted in extraction of SATURN traffic flow which was fed into VISSIM model. I produced a variety of Highway design drawings including traffic management, plan views, schematic layout and general arrangement drawings.
