As President of Carter Products Company, my role is to oversee all operations of Carter, with a special focus on marketing, new product development and acquisitions. As the driving force behind Carter’s new product development team, I hold multiple patents for new technology and more recently developed and patented products that have helped usher the company into new and lucrative markets. This includes our more recent push for international distribution that has our products available around the globe.My alternate focus has been on the development and implementation of a comprehensive web based marketing strategy which over the past four years has more than doubled our revenues. More recently I have taken the company into social media with tremendous results.Finally my task is to build on the foundations of our past with our extensive line of products, while at the same time creating a vision for the future growth of Carter Products through acquisitions and development.Outside of work I am a member of the Family Business Alliance (FBA) and serve as a trustee on the board of the Mary Free Bed Hospital Foundation. I am a member of the Grand Rapids Economic Club, GR Chamber and other various civic organizations. These services are made available to uninsured and underderinsured families on a sliding fee scale. The BRAINS Foundation works to understand the complexities facing families that have children with developmental and cognitive disabilities that are uninsured or underinsured. The goal is to provide assements to these families to help them adequately address the needs of these individuals when they occur, as they present a precious window of opportunity for treatment and intervention. The Brains process gives parents and caregivers new information through neuropsychological assessments and consultations that make a direct impact upon day to day interactions in a positive way. At the same time our training and service provides future clinicians with a more comprehensive understanding of these issues as they enter the service community. We want to make the lives of our patients and their families the best that it can be while at the same time providing broader support network by educating future clinicians on the complexities that exist. Through the great philanthropy in our area and support from our partners, we are able to help break down those barriers to provide support where little previously existed. -
