As a Senior Leadership Team member, I oversee all aspects of the school, including: • Strategic planning• Business strategy• Academic goals• HR matters• Budgetary / finance matters. • Awards• Marketing• Discipline• Coordinating School Open DaysSince 2016, my students have consistently achieved a 100% pass rate with an average mark of 77% in Geography and History for Grade 12 students, a significant improvement from the 6% and 29% in 2014 and 2015, respectively. My top student consistently scored above 92% each year.Of the 311 students who reached Grade 12 in Geography or History during my tenure, I have helped 166 students earn A grades (80%+), 77 students achieve B grades (70-79%), and 49 students attain C grades (60-69%). These exceptional results have positioned our Humanities department as the top-performing in the city.In 2018, I spearheaded the design and creation of a stream table in collaboration with Nelson Mandela University. This innovative tool allows me to demonstrate various Geomorphology processes, including rivers, erosion, deposition, and more, using river sand and water. Additionally, I added motorized paddles to simulate waves for teaching coastal erosion and deposition and even demonstrated glaciation with ice blocks.Furthermore, I secured funding for the Humanities department, enabling the installation of a complete weather station on our school grounds in 2019. To enhance the learning experience, I initiated annual Grade 10 and Grade 12 Geography tours and triennial trips to Namibia to increase student engagement. I also integrate real-world case studies into my teaching to reinforce the curriculum and make learning more experiential and enjoyable.
