The role entailed the following: - Technical Lead for the ServiceNow platform. This encompassed both design and implementation of the platform, as part of a drive to deliver automation and improvements across IT, Facilities and Finance. - Lead Architect on the Design and Deployment of foundational capabilities to support the firms migration to Microsoft Azure. - Lead Architect and Technology Evangelist for automation of infrastructure deployment within the firm. This has included product selection, definition of processes and governance steps, in addition to liaising with third party vendors on integrations. - Responsible for definition of the Architectural Principles that will guide technology decisions across the firm. This has also included the creation of documentation templates and processes to ensure appropriate architectural governance is applied at each process in the life-cycle. - The delivery of both technical and business focused documentation to support the decision-making process as part of the technology road map for the firm.- Engagement with Business stakeholders, technology SMEs and partners to ensure appropriate requirements are gathered during Idea definition, discovery and design phases.

I operated as part of the team responsible for defining and governing Asda technology strategy, specifically across the infrastructure and technology enablement domains. I ensured that technology platforms were designed and implemented to support the overall Asda and Walmart business strategy, in addition to supporting other architects to deliver solutions supported by technology within their own domain. I led a team of Technical Experts and Specialists who design and deliver a large portfolio of Infrastructure and business led projects every year. I ensured that all proposed designs adhere to industry and internal Walmart/Asda architectural standards and that all solutions deliver the best value for Asda, for the lifetime of a solution before being deployed. I managed a team of systems administrators based in Europe, the US and Australia responsible for the design, implementation and support of both corporate and production systems running on Microsoft Windows.
