Principal Software EngineerDevelopment Dimensions International May 2011 - PresentBridgeville, Pa, UsI led the front-end development and currently maintain our company's participant site which receives tens of thousands of unique views per day. We created the site using Angular, RxJS, Typescript, Azure, .net core, Sass, Entity Framework, Dapper and Microsoft SQL Server.I led an engineering team tasked with gathering and analyzing internal usage metrics, via Application Insights, related to the utilization of new software features. I then built an Angular website portal for our technology leaders which allowed them to drill into new platform features, see all the relevant data, and make informed decisions regarding the future direction of our department.I helped to develop our company's administrative system which empowered admins to deliver our content to their employees.I collaborated with various internal departments to gather requirements, demonstrate software, elicit feedback and deliver products to clients.I mentored and helped onboard engineers new to our company.I helped drive the initiative to move our company's source control system from Microsoft TFS to Git.I utilized pair programming to help mentor, as well as serve as a real time code review and knowledge transfer, of new features under development. -
Software EngineerRough Stone Software, Llc May 2010 - May 2011Sewickley, Pennsylvania, UsRough Stone Software, LLC is a small custom software development company specializing in .Net and iPhone development.I maintained and added to a consumer facing website using ASP.Net MVC framework and C#. I utilized LINQ to SQL to access the site's SQL Server 2008 back end. While on-site with a client during a contract I helped to construct a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tool with them utilizing ASP .Net MVC 2. Each morning I would participate in a daily-standup, conveying what I did the day before, and what I hoped to accomplish that day. Additional Agile practices I employed were pair-programming and participating in iteration retrospectives. While working on this project I utilized Structure Map for system-wide dependency injection (DI) and NHibernate for object-relational mapping (ORM). I constructed web pages with the ASP.NET view engine using HTML, CSS, and JQuery/Javascript. I used NUnit and Rhino Mocks to create specification-based unit tests that helped drive the requirements for software being created. Additionally, I paired with another developer to implement an automated Javascript unit testing framework for the project using Jasmine and WatiN. For SQL Server 2008 data migrations, I used RoundhousE to create upgrade scripts to handle changes in the database.I helped construct an ASP.NET MVC 2 inventory management application for a client that provided greater visibility into their inventory levels. I utilized EF4 for the ORM and constructed pages with the ASP.NET Web Forms View Engine using HTML, CSS, and Javascript/JQuery.I engineered an order integration system for a client in the mortgage closing industry. I worked extensively with Mirth, an open-source tool, to map xml represented work orders into a custom-created C# web service that integrated the information into the client’s existing SQL Server 2005 database. -
Software EngineerThe Wendy'S Company Jul 2007 - Apr 2010Dublin, Ohio, UsThe Wendy's Company is the third largest quick service restaurant company in the world. They own or franchise over 10,000 restaurants.I was the primary developer on several .Net projects utilizing C#, VB.Net, and SQL Server 2000-2005.I created C# dll's for our business partners and vendors to provide them a means of using our data from sources such as XML, Microsoft SQL Server and the Windows File System.I redesigned a custom scheduling windows service and implemented it using C#, XML, and Microsoft SQL Server 2005. This service allowed our stores to run nightly jobs based on their hours of operation, which in turn greatly reduced missed tasks occurring too often using the AT-jobs system we had in place prior to this service.During my time with Wendy's I worked extensively with a software consultant brought in to help us out after the departure of one of our developers. Throughout this time, I began to adopt the techniques and methodologies he championed, including: Agile, Test Driven Development (TDD), Inversion of Control (IOC) and Dependency Injection Containers (DI), Unit Testing, Kanban, SOLID Principles, Aspect Oriented Programming (AOP), Behavior Driven Development (BDD), and Domain-Driven Design (DDD).In June of 2009, I received the "Quality is our Recipe" award for my work on the Pickup Window Timer project. A multi-tiered C# windows service that consumed a third party COM API and persisted collected data to Microsoft SQL Server 2005 databases. This application gave our senior management great insight to our Speed of Service times in each restaurant.During the summer of 2008, I refactored numerous legacy applications written in VB6 and MFC C++ from our existing code-base in order for Wendy's to achieve Payment Card Industry (PCI) compliance.I produced a C# dll for use by our internal development team as well as outside vendors that provided concise visibility into a store's Point of Sale vendor information. -
Software DeveloperAims Logistics Jan 2005 - Jul 2007UsAIMS Logistics was a global freight payment and transportation management provider that offered customized solutions to its fortune 500 clientele.During my time here I designed and developed custom software applications utilizing SQL Server 2000, Microsoft Visual FoxPro and the .net platform.
