I am a generalist with a diverse background and hold myself to very high expectations. I am currently engaged in small business management. My goal is to build upon my experience and expand my skill set to be effective at any level of an organization. I hold a master's degree from University of Illinois, where I focused on large dataset analysis and modeling to investigate environmental concerns at multiple scales. My education provided me with the ability to think globally and systematically about problems, which I have leveraged in small business to accelerate the pace with which I can make decisions with good judgement. I find the greatest reward in bringing my problem solving skills to a team that is struggling, providing new viewpoints, and motivating the team to succeed and perform well under stressful or hectic conditions. Throughout my education and career, I have been responsible for communicating highly technical, scientific information to the general populace. It is possible to quickly identify an audience's level of understanding on a subject and sift through details to find the core information that needs to be presented, so that critical points may be understood and retained. I have honed this skill for more than a decade and have found it to be one of the most useful skills in my tool belt. Time spent clarifying a topic to ensure all parties fully understand the scope and impact of an issue is time well spent. That will ultimately lessen the financial burden of future miscommunications, misunderstandings, or misalignment that often results as a function of poorly informed teams. I am passionate about science communication, education, philosophy, fermentation, and the usage of new technologies to enhance data analysis and visualization. I am interested in various areas of research, including but not limited to: aquatic ecology, fermentation, engineered fluid process systems, environmental microeconomics, and more. My entrepreneurial spirit allows me to dive into many different subjects and when feeling real passion from other high-performing entrepreneurs I get highly motivated.
