Built and deployed an AI journaling website at scale. Topically, DIY mental health - aided by tech - is my passion. Technologically, the tooling was a pleasure to use. AWS serverless architecture on SST (CDK). Experienced the gamut of scalable ML pipelines, esp. with SageMaker. ML includes custom AutoEncoders in PyTorch and Tensorflow; pre-trained and fine-tuned Huggingface models; XGBoost for behavior statistics. Backed in Node and Python, Postgres on Aurora Serverless. Data-marshalling for ML pipelines (eg embedding vectors) with S3 and EFS, via PyArrow Parquet. Frontend with React and MUI. Created an app for comparing computer vision (CV) machine learning models, https://ipvm.com/ai. Compares performance of models like YOLOv3, SqueezeNet+SSD, HOG, Haar on user-uploaded videos.Tested various CV models for efficiency and accuracy. Trained employees in computer vision fundamentals, both old (HOG DLPM, Viola Jones) and new (CNNs). Focus on surveillance, eg object & face detection (YOLO, SSD), and efficiency optimization for edge hardware (OpenVINO).

Managed dev-ops on Heroku and Amazon Web Services. This was a deep-dive into scalability, marketing, fundraising, hiring, and more. I managed an open source community of 200+ contributors (github.com/habitrpg/habitrpg). Was a one-man-band running this 800k+ user-base for 1.5y before hiring. Lots of startup lessons to bear!
