As the Director of Engineering for the Platform at Peach Payments, I lead a dynamic team encompassing DevSecOps, SRE, Architecture, and Internal Services. My role is pivotal in orchestrating collaboration with the Product team to ensure a robust and healthy system.Responsibilities include spearheading metrics, performance measures, and tooling for the organization, emphasizing cyber security best practices. I work with our teams to design and manage infrastructure tooling, we oversee networking between services, and assist the development of future interfaces and components.My strategic focus extends to the optimization and cost-effectiveness of existing components, while managing a comprehensive budget. Additionally, we pioneer training programs and documentation for the Engineering team, fostering continuous growth.In a collaborative leadership role, I work closely with the Head of Security, Director of Data, Head of Engineering, and Head of Product to elevate the technical excellence of our organization. Looking over the entire Frontend and Backend development teams, reporting directly to the Senior management team. Driving the vision, design, strategy, and implementation of integrated web systems in order to support the business.

I am currently leading, coaching and mentoring several Software Engineers across a number of teams who report directly to me, with a focus is on supporting their career development, assisting them and their teams with removing impediments and resolving issues in collaboration with other Software Engineering Managers.Support the hiring and onboarding of new Software Engineers into the broader Technology Team. I am responsible for the growth and development of the Software Engineers reporting to me and fulfill all line management duties and responsibilities. I work closely with Senior Product Managers and teams to help set OKRs for specific areas and support teams that report to me and help them to achieve those goals. I am responsible for helping set up metrics within the teams that report to me and utilize these reports and metrics with Product and Tech leaders to help the company achieve its goals.

Working with some great software developers, in building and maintaining in-house and public facing applications. From working in the backend to UI manipulation and all that come's in between. Using RoR, JS and Coffee Script amongst others to build some quality high-value software.

Working with Ruby on Rails as my main platform for development, I have been exposed to the whole development process. From architecting features and developing them to maintaining our systems and debugging issues. Working on large enterprise type systems has helped me develop a good sense of clean code design. Using good development principles like SOLID and skinny model principles i have found a love for well written code.Developer Development is also something i am pretty passionate about, and developing a good development environment is part of that. Being familiar with things like scrum and agile have helped us build a unique development environment here at Mpowered something that works for us. Being apart of the building of this environment has been really exciting.
