A really sweet and glamorous business experience: In 2008, attributing the knowledge of retail gained from my experience with the Robinsons Group, together with my wife, we’ve successfully launched our own fashion label and boutique, Anaarkali & Kuchh | GlamCouture®. Located in the heart of Singapore, it brings Indo-Western couture from Bollywood into mainstream Singapore fashion scene. With the strong use of social media as advertising platform, this brand has really kicked off among her niche target audience.

Strategy department set up by Ad Planet Group to mainly to relate and serve with prospective government agencies for their advertising and public service campaigns. Duties include understanding project insights, strategic planning, creative brief, conduct brainstorming sessions with the group's creative teams to plan out solutions and generate ideas and prepare presentations for submissions the respective agencies.

The Robinsons Group, with an advertising and promotions budget of $8 million annually, is one of Singapore's largest group of department stores. So, wasn't surprising that they also owned and ran their own in-house full-fledge advertising agency called Baccarat International Pte Ltd, up till end 2016. The agency managed four retail entities' accounts that trade under the following brands :– Robinsons, John Little, Marks & Spencer & Costa Coffee, as well as all their respective subsidiary brand labels.Here, I headed the creative team and assisted in managing the agency as well. Our key role was developing a steady flow of fresh creatives, marketing strategies, and content to generate traffic into their retail outlets through weekly press/magazine ads, tv and radio commercials, DMs, outdoor billboards and in-store posters. Duties also include mentoring, leading, conducting appraisals and training for the team.

My first step into the world of advertising was at the deep end of the pool. DNC was the largest local advertising agency competing with the big boys of MNC in Singapore.
