Starting my PhD in late 2009, I obtained my degree in early 2013. Since then, I was a research fellow at Curtin University with the responsibility of leading research in the field of visualization and interaction, teaching and providing academic leadership, promoting and developing research proposals for funding, liaising with industry and networking with external and internal bodies to develop opportunities for collaborative research and enterprise projects. I have been an academic within the field of construction management and information technology (IT) for 5 years. This has ranged across a number of research topics including visualisation IT techniques in architecture, engineering and construction (Building Information Modelling, 4D, Virtual Reality, Augmented Reality), computer applications and game engines in safety, risk and training, mobile computing in design, modelling and simulation, human factors and productivity in engineering, intelligent decision support system, earned value system, work flow optimization, construction progress check, etc. My dedicated endeavours have led to successful research bids from the National Science Foundation (NSF) and the Australia Research Council (ARC), as well as exciting research outcomes (I have published over 100 papers in refereed international journals, book chapters and conference proceedings). My research projects are multi-disciplinary in terms of research scope and complementary knowledge across various universities and industry companies such as Sydney University, New South Wales University, Curtin University, Woodside, I&E Systems and CSI.
