While pursuing a bachelor's in mechanical engineering, I have found that my most challenging classes are also my most enjoyable. My favorite class so far has been thermodynamics where we learned about topics like power plant and rocket nozzle design. The questions posed were similar to real-life engineering, which I've had a glimpse of in my personal projects and at a 7-month-long internship at Northrop Grumman. The questions posed in this class were long and had many underlying assumptions and required external tools to solve. I have always been interested in applied science and throughout my life, I have enjoyed working with robotics. What I am most proud of in this field is when I designed and created an integrated subsystem to lift a 120-lb robot three feet off the ground. I recently had an internship at Northrup Grumman supporting the interceptor missile division as a mechanical engineering intern. This was an incredible experience. My favorite project was designing and manufacturing a testing apparatus from the ground up, taking into account stress, strain, cost and manufacturability.Aside from engineering, I love to skateboard, read, draw, and make terrariums filled with moss and ferns.
