Authored an integration plan which provides inter/intra-district policy proposals to address the need for more equitable learning opportunities for all MPS students. Worked to establish a pipeline between Historically Black Colleges/Universities (HBCU) and Minneapolis and St. Paul public high schools. Conducted an evaluation and analysis of MPS' relationship with the West Metro Education Program (WMEP) and provided recommendations concerning future involvement.

Using the coordinated entry system, I placed residents experiencing homelessness into available housing opportunities. I worked with several local shelters and housing organizations to find matches.

Long-term temporary employee on a team that was responsible for logistical and administrative support of the Hennepin County absentee balloting process for the 2016 election. Work included providing all voting materials to absentee voters, receiving and processing returned ballots, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency as part of the daily production. Post-election work consists of data-entry, office organization, and ongoing preparation for the 2017 and 2018 election cycles.From September through December of 2017, I took an opportunity to help out at the Office to End Homelessness (Hennepin County). Using the Coordinated Entry program, I assisted the team by evaluating housing opportunities for potential clients, analyzing the likelihood of success if we deemed the opportunity a good fit, and then making the referral when appropriate.

Primarily focused on federal and state policy development and leadership; with a goal of learning how to positively influence new policy that will directly affect public education and the communities that support our schools.

Managed a small liquor store and helped train the staff to be better focused on customer satisfaction. Excellent customer service and knowledgeable advice (pertaining to food and beverage) were attributes we achieved together. Our ever-growing clientele was proof that our "product" is a method with proven results. UPDATE: Named Best Liquor Store in Twin Cities Metro by City Pages, April 2014.

Managed the front office; acted as liaison between staff, parents, and students to ensure optimal communications; wrote bimonthly school and community update letters; trained new office personnel; and assisted staff in multiple capacities. Volunteered and worked as a substitute teacher for four years, prior to taking the communications position.

Trained and managed a crew of 13 enumerators during the 2010 decennial census. Selected as a member of the follow-up team to track down remaining individuals not previously counted.

Wrote new curriculum for several classes during long-term assignments at Baltimore City College High School (Humanities), managed classrooms of 20-35 students, provided analysis and promoted discussion on a wide range of subjects, and encouraged students to think creatively and critically about contemporary issues.

Hand-sold wines, assisted customers with party planning, pairing wines with foods, and educated guests at weekly wine tastings. Gained invaluable wine experience working with Dr. Jay Miller (The Wine Advocate - Robert Parker) and had the opportunity to meet and talk to some of the most revered producers in the industry. At the sixth annual American Wine Awards Show, Bin 604 was named "Best New Wine Shop" by Food & Wine Magazine in 2002. Worked here from April 2004 - August 2004 and again from November of 2005 - February 2008.

As an original member of the Wine Market, I worked with the owner and builder to: pour concrete, build both bars, assemble wine racks and install the dining room furniture— while writing a training manual and conducting front-of-house training for all employees. Responsibilities included initial wine order for the wine shop and restaurant, weekly front-of-house inventory to include bar orders, managing a staff of 20-25, overseeing the dining room for Sunday brunch, lunch, and dinner service, managing the wine shop, and setting up weekly wine and beer tastings. Additionally, I worked with the owner and chef to plan private events, wine dinners, and pairing menus. We received 3½ stars (out of 4) and were named one of Baltimore's 50 Best Restaurants.

Active Duty U.S.M.C. helicopter mechanic at HMT-301, 1st Marine Air Wing, Marine Corps Air Station-Kaneohe Bay. Achieved rank of Corporal prior to Honorable Discharge. Named Marine of the Quarter - first quarter, fiscal year 1998.
