My role as project engineer is to liaise between the project manager and the technical disciplines involved in a project. I ensure that my projects are completed according to the project plan and I manage the project team resources and the overall quality control of the work. I am accountable for the HSE Management, ensuring compliance with HSE procedures.I maintain and build healthy client relationships throughout the project and post completion.I assist the project manager to proactively resolve performance, scope, cost and schedule issues with the Client as they arise and I assist with the effective management of the project financial objectives and performance.I manage and monitor the project performance on an ongoing basis to identify issues and opportunities early and take pre-emptive action.I assist with the managing of the design, procurement and construction activities to meet the project schedule which includes the routine monitoring of the key reports and development of corrective action plans.I assist the project manager in monitoring and control of all cost aspects of the project to forecast costs, obtain approvals, identify trends and take action to avoid cost overruns and take advantage of opportunitiesI ensure the right systems are in place and that these are applied on the project.I assist the project manager to accurately, timeously & effectively report on progress to the Client and to internal management.I monitor all identified risks and opportunities and maintain the risk management focus throughout the project duration.I monitor design activities, interdisciplinary data flow and communications.I assist the project manager to assess procurement process throughout the project to ensure goods meet specification, are delivered on time and are within budget.I monitor the Construction Management function to ensure safe delivery of the project within cost and schedule objectives.

DRA Mining is an EPCM company involved in high level mining projects providing exceptional levels of skill and expertise to the respective mining houses they are contracted to.I have been involved in a Shaft Sinking and Capital Footprint establishment project for a Platinum mine where I undertook the mechanical installations involved with the process. I have also been involved with the mechanical aspects for the extension of an existing Coal operation. I am current working on a Definitive Feasibility Study for a Copper mine in the DRC.

Completed the MiT (Management in Training) Program which involves project work, attending various courses as well as obtaining knowledge in the following areas; Refrigeration, Compressors, Horizontal Transport, Vertical Transport, Gold Plants, Boilers, Main Fans, Pumping Systems, Electrical Reticulation, Breakers and Shaft Sinking. Relieving in various management positions was also a part of the training scheme.Projects include the testing and implementation of coupling devices for underground rail bound equipment.
