My role at the school centres on offering counselling and learner support services as well as administering educational psychological assessments to all learners. I offer these services on an individual or group basis, depending on the task at hand. As a counsellor in training, a large component of my duties entail report writing and developing individualised plans to further assist clients in their development. I also assist in the development and the facilitation of systemic interventions that centre on social skills development, effective communication skills and an anti-bullying campaign.

Working with individuals ranging between the ages of 5 to 18 years of age, mostly through individual counselling. Focus is placed on utilising various play therapy techniques to assist children with an array of difficulties, such as suicide, loss, varying degrees and types of abuse, identity difficulties, defiant behaviour and issues of abandonment. Public speaking - presentations are provided, centring on presenting issues at the home such as bullying.

Screening and assessment of mental health challenges, psychoeducation, formualtion of treatment plans and counselling skills

Creating and implementing a community intervention, focusing on psychoeducational workshop as well as skills development on self-concept, peer pressure, leadership skills, drug awareness, sexual education and providing individual counselling.
