Provides legal and investigative advice on cases to the Special Investigations Unit (SIU). Additionally, serves as a special prosecutor throughout Ohio

Associate Assistant Attorney General: Represents the people in the State of Ohio in a wide range of criminal cases throughout the State for counties requiring assistance or due to conflicts. • Caseload runs the gamut of prosecution of misdemeanors and felonies, with an emphasis on white collar criminal enterprise, murders and felony traffic cases.• Requires the ability to adapt to 88 counties with extensive travel within the state.• An experienced team of prosecutors, with large trial requirements to be considered for the unit.• Beyond trial work, the unit was responsible for advising the Attorney General on possible law changes, creation of state-wide criminal programs, advising local prosecutor’s offices, and participation in trainings for attorneys and law enforcement throughout the state.

Assistant County Prosecutor: Represents the people in the State of Ohio in a wide range of Franklin County felony prosecutions from fifth degree felony theft offenses to aggravated murder. • Headed the Criminal Trial Staff Gun Unit, which aggressively handles firearm possession cases with a focus on violent offenders, gang members and narcotic involvement. The Gun Unit handles all cases from indictment to sentencing.• Established and grew the Franklin County Gun Unit, one of the first of its kind in the United States.• Appointed as a Special Assistant United States Attorney (SAUSA) in 2008.• Performed as a lead representative in the Project Safe Neighborhoods Firearms Initiative with the United States Attorneys’ Office (USAO).• Awarded the Public Eyes distinction in 2008 on behalf of the Central Ohio Bank and Financial Institutions Bank Robbery Reward.• Co-chaired and worked on numerous large bank robbery ring trials in Central Ohio.• Taught numerous courses at the Columbus Police Academy for both new recruits and existing officers, including prosecution of weapons cases, an introduction to gun laws and the expectations of the prosecutor.
