The BaT Task Force works to support public health and safety for babies and toddlers and their families through investigations, multidisciplinary training and special initiatives. I have a Juris Doctor degree from Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law and over 25 years of experience in law and nonprofit organizations. Before joining the NYC OCME, I was the President of Babies and Toddlers, Inc., a nonprofit organization that provides education, advocacy, and support for families and caregivers of young children. I spent more than two decades serving as an Assistant District Attorney in Queens County, New York where I ran the Child Fatality Unit and specialized in serious injury/homicide investigations and prosecutions involving babies and toddlers. I have strong skills in advocacy, law, nonprofit management, community outreach, and child welfare. My core competencies include leadership, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and innovation. I am passionate about improving the health and safety of children and reducing the disparities and inequalities that affect them. My mission is to use my expertise and experience to make a positive impact on the lives of babies and toddlers in New York City and beyond. I obtained a Bachelor of Arts from Rhodes College and am originally from Birmingham, Alabama. Roll TIde!!!
