About Leigh Britt
My career began as a secondary high school teacher after graduating in Mathematics Education from Virginia Tech in 1990. After teaching high school for 2 years in Virginia followed by 2 years in Indiana, I began teaching part time as an Adjunct Lecturer for Indiana University Purdue University Columbus (IUPUC) teaching developmental mathematics at the college level. As a Lecturer, my recent focus has shifted to teaching mathematics courses for future elementary and middle school teachers as well as mathematics courses for non-STEM majors. I truly enjoy working with students who find math to be a challenge.My experience of representing IUPUC on grants focusing on student success with regard to developmental instruction, has allowed for professional development opportunities that improve my success in the classroom. I continue to seek out opportunities to improve classroom pedagogy in the mathematics classroom.
