Looking after Sales and Estimating within the niche Rainscreen Cladding and Building Boards market

Starting with Howdens from company inception as a warehouse /sales counter person my main responsibilities of this job role was to sell kitchens, doors, joinery, hardware, ironmongery and flooring to trade customers, regularly exceeding weekly and monthly targets set through selling over the trade counter, telephone sales and site visits to local or national builders offering the full product range available. I would also help to recruit new staff and with superb product knowledge to help train all staff members, set sales and stock targets. Identify new business opportunities and develop new sales and marketing strategies, supervise, monitor and motivate team performance. Some of the large accounts that I looked after included, Kier group, Mitie, Mears, Morrisons, Apollo, United House, Berkeley Homes, South London Family Housing Association, and Bromley Council. I spent 10 years at Howdens Orpington depot helping to take the business to £5m per annum before helping to open several other depots across South London, Kent and Essex.
