As the Special Educational Needs Coordinator (SENCO) at an Outstanding mainstream primary school with a resource provision specialising in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), I oversee a student population that includes 27 Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within our 1.5 form entry structure, catering to a range of complex needs. I take pride in fostering a nurturing and supportive environment for both the children and their families, while also maintaining high standards of educational excellence. Additionally, I serve as the Deputy Safeguarding Lead and mentor for Early Career Teachers (ECTs). In my role, I lead a team of over 45 staff members, managing timetables, cover arrangements, and promoting staff well-being.
