Currently working with continuous improvement and projects. AP Racing are the worlds leading designers of brakes and clutches for motorsport including F1, Indycar, Nascar, WR cars and road cars such as McLaren & Bugatti.

A short term contract - Gap analysis, auditing and providing advice & training to identify TS16949 improvement actions for imminent 3rd party audit.

Planning newly required PPAP systems for the business and its key suppliers for a defence contract.

Re-structuring QHSE department. Successfully implementing significant improvements to retain TS16949, 14001 & 18001. Training Engineers and Cell Leaders to improve process set up and auditing. Setting up and commissioning a new metallurgical test laboratory greatly enhancing process set up, concern resolution and customer confidence. Implementing an effective concerns and structured problem solving process leading to enhanced customer satisfaction. Making quality improvements that significantly contributed to the business plan of winning back high volume orders.

Managing foundry Technical team. Process improvement and development. Determining, planning and implementing yield improvements to reduce waste and improve metal capacity without further investment being required to support increased demand.

Implementing new Quality Management System incorporating elements of automotive practices to improve quality and efficiency. Successfully retaining ISO9001 certification. Introducing APQP practices and providing training for the development of FMEA's and Control Plans. Participating in new part introduction programmes. Taking the lead in Type Approval audits - new on-road vehicles. Improving supplier monitoring and communication and agreeing improvement plans that enhanced quality performance and improved production efficiency.

Management of quality department, tool room, metrology (CMM & Faro arm), customer liaison, TS16949 implementation / auditing and process improvement. Determining and implementing quality improvement plans leading to preferred supplier status to JLR, Bentley, Ford and JCB. Managing extensive NPI programmes for complex mouldings and assemblies. Successfully meeting challenging technical and timing requirements.

Technical sales, project management and new part introduction for Plastic Injection, PU Moulding and Vacuum Forming largely for the automotive and off road industries. Successfully wining back customer confidence and achieving nomination for major projects from key customers. Implementing systems, carrying out training and attaining VDA 6 based Bentley Motors Standard and TS16949.

Setting up Quality Management Systems to assist companies to gain ISO9001 registration including; Mako Precision Engineering, Manchester Metrology, RP Tooling, RP Moulding Ltd, Tansun, PAR Sheet Metal and Bridge Manufacturing. (All companies achieved certification at the first attempt in some cases without a single non-conformity)Implementing TS 16949:2002 in the following industries; closed die forging, drop forging, ductile casting & machining, high pressure die casting & machining, composite PU moulding, vacuum forming and plastic injection moulding. Training auditors in process based systems audits, manufacturing process audits and product audits.Project management of APQP programmes for cast, machined and assembled products for JCB, Perkins Engines, Caterpillar and Scania. Developing first tier supplier to meet Bentley Motors Formel Q requirements.

Management of the quality and technical departments, including the laboratories, customer liaison, quality engineering, dimensional assessment and technical development in a large German owned grey iron foundry producing high volume engine castings for first tier automotive customers including Ford, General Motors, Perkins Engines, JCB and Sisu Diesel.
