My primary objective as a Safety Advisor is to actively campaign safety on Cockram project, ensuring compliance of all parties to the internal and external safety systems. I'm responsible for providing support to the site managers via implementing systems and processes, onsite training and education of EHS issues and generally overseeing the procedures to ensure that pre-planning activities are inclusive of EHS needsI liaise with the State HSE manager, Project Managers / Engineers and Site Foreman and communicate on a daily basis with external and internal stakeholders to ensure Cockram’s Safety requirements are implemented on site.I develop and foster positive working relationships to ensure support from my peers, internal & external stakeholders, knowledge and mediation work collaboratively to ensure an effective Safety culture is achieved

• Assist site based Project safety Advisors, Project managers & site teams in the development, implementation & maintenance of the Project Safety Management Plan, safe systems of work, training needs analysis & overall delivery of projects within the Brisbane metropolitan area (SEQ), reporting directly to the QLD HSE Manager. • Undertake regular Site Safety & Environment Systems Audits & Site Inspections as per project Master Audit Schedule. Assist with Incident Accident investigation & RTW programmes.• Co ordinate with site based Project safety Advisors with the pre planning of high risk activities around projects within the Brisbane metro area (SEQ), liaise directly and proactively with Project Management Team responsible for the scope of works • Collate & process of project safety statistics, data entry into an on line reporting systems (4CAST), Develop & deliver monthly HSE reports for projects within the Brisbane metro area (SEQ) in preparation for Quarterly Divisional Reports.(LTI, LTIFR, RIFR, RWIFR, ect)• Prepare Environmental management plans, complete inspections and communicate with the local councils and DERM.. • Liaise with local authorities in the development of Traffic management plans, permits & any other regulatory requirements

My role at Laing O Rourke was to provide the technical and professional support required to compliance with the occupational health and safety act, direct information and direction for compliance regarding changes to the OHS Act and new or revise regulations, facilitate occupational health and safety training, arrange for environmental testing of suspected contaminants as prescribed under the OHS Act, and participate in the investigation of unsafe conditions, critical injuries, conflict resolution and work stoppages that effect production.
