Provide diagnosis and treatment of mental health issues in children and adolescents. Duties include intake assessments, crisis intervention, diagnosis, psychosocial assessments, interagency collaboration, and treatment planning. Based on individual therapeutic goals I provide individual therapy, group therapy, play therapy, psycho-education, and family therapy. As the Testing Therapist at NOVA, I administer personality, behavior, developmental, and IQ assessments.

Served as a consultant to the Secretary of Health and established the first mental health services for children in this area. My duties included individual therapy, play therapy, group guidance activities, family counseling, health education, and parent training. I developed educational materials and provided training on suicide, child abuse, mental illness, and drug abuse to hospital staff, local youth leaders, and parents. In addition to the clinical services I provided, I was also responsible for developing population statistics to be used in grant renewals and progress documentation. I developed a bi-lingual screening questionnaire for children used to identify child abuse and mental health needs. As part of our community outreach, I recruited and trained students to serve as peer counselors.

Provided mental health and addictions counseling to adult inpatient residents. I was responsible for crisis screening, diagnosis, treatment planning, individual and group therapy, psycho-education, and family therapy. Functioned as an on-call screener to the Emergency Department in which I evaluated patients for services, completed psychosocial assessments, and gave an initial diagnosis.
