An experienced NVIS Multi Engine Helicopter Pilot.Having started flying as a 15 year old my career has been founded in multi-crew, multi engine helicopter operations. After over 18 years of ADF service my experience and skill sets gained have been both rewarding and varied. I have been fortunate enough to fulfill numerous key positions within various ADF units, all whilst having maintained a practical flying focus throughout most of my ADF career. Additionally I have had the chance to deploy with the ADF on multiple occasions, from operations closer to Australia in East Timor to those further afar in Afghanistan, in addition to other international training opportunities overseas. My career has had numerous highlights including these deployments, however the ADF flying operations conducted as part of the ADF Australian Bushfire Support in 2019/20 in Victoria stand head and shoulders above all of these experiences. The challenging conditions encountered during this flying remain the most memorable and impactful of my career, necessitating a crew drawing on over 50 years of collective experience collaborating to achieve real world life saving outcomes in the most extreme of circumstances. This utilisation of both the complex platforms and the training provided by the ADF to directly benefit the community was an incredible privilege and I greatly look forward to using this skill set to benefit the community long into the future within the Australian Helicopter community.
