I've come back to Nexon to lead the new Unified Communications engineering group. We're Microsoft Skype for Business and Lync specialists, rolling out cloud-based and on-premises solutions to help businesses replace their legacy PABX systems with a new system that allows their people to communicate and collaborate more efficiently.

Member of the CTI Operations group, a level 3 problem and escalated incident management group, operating Genesys contact centre systems on Oracle Solaris and Microsoft Windows servers. Duties include: ITIL escalated incident management, problem investigation and change management; interaction with AGILE project teams to provide project integration into production environments; host and network performance monitoring and management; and the creation of applications to automate administrative functions.Technologies: Genesys eServices, CIM, iWD, WFM; Oracle Solaris; Windows 2008 R2; VMWare.

Nexon is a turn-key integrator, providing everything from network links and phone lines to desktop computers and phones. This broad product set means that Nexon's engineers must be dynamic, efficient and willing to learn.I currently manage the VIC/Tas Engineering team, responsible for a small group of employees and subcontractors, as well as engineers visiting from other states. Responsible for planning and direction of work among team, technical guidance and development, and quality control.I have worked on the installation and maintenance of Alcatel-Lucent OmniPCX Enterprise, OmniTouch Contact Center Standard and Premium (now Genesys Compact Edition), various Cisco routers, wireless controllers and swtches, Windows desktop and server environments.I have also functioned as a technical pre-sales resource, attending customer meetings to advise sales staff, surveying sites in preparation for a tender response, and designing systems based on customer requirements.

Originally employed as an Alcatel OmniPCX Office Engineer, I broadened my skills to include the Ericsson Businessphone and MD110, as well as a number of other systems.I installed and maintained systems across the greater Sydney region in businesses varying in size from small businesses with less than 10 handsets to major companies with over 1000 users.

My first steps in to the Telecommunications area, Cititel provided me an excellent starting point. Brought on board to work on the Avaya product line, I quickly learned the Samsung and Alcatel products as well, proving a quick study and an incredibly versatile engineer.

CommSecure provides a high-volume, secure e-payment system. As a system administrator, I was responsible for the construction and operation of Linux servers both locally and on customers sites.

As one of the night administrators, I was responsible for the operation and maintenance of Linux and OpenVMS (Digital VAX) servers.

Peakhour was a business applications provider, offering all-in-one website and hosting packages to customers. I was responsible for technical support, DNS administration and troubleshooting.

Responsible for a small team of engineers who were tasked with the beautification of rail lines between Central and Penrith for the lead up to the Sydney Olympics. While a massive change of pace, working as a field supervisor at LEM was incredibly rewarding.

Employed originally as a customer support engineer, I quickly moved in to the role of Webmaster at Keynet, a regional ISP. I was responsible for the administration of Apache web servers, design and creation of customer websites, and technical support for customers.
