As a registered nurse at Valleywise Health, I provide outstanding care to birthing people, infants, and their families on a 27-bed Postpartum unit, serving uninsured or underinsured individuals. I have welcomed the role of charge nurse and preceptor to support our unit and new employees, as well as students. I am also happy to serve on our Shared Governance committee, which empowers team members to improve unit-based policies and procedures, while encouraging teamwork and connection.I have been bedside in women's health and maternal infant care for the past several years, after completing my bachelor's degree in registered nursing at James Madison University and my associate's degree in registered nursing at John Tyler Community College. Women's health and the birthing experience are my greatest passions, and something that I live and breathe in both my personal and professional life. I have worked tirelessly to make our healthcare system a safer, more transparent, and more accessible place for women of all ages and all walks of life. I have a deep sense of responsibility, honor, and pride in the care that I've been so lucky to provide to my patients over the past several years. Helping women to understand their bodies, their autonomy, and support them on their journey is truly my greatest joy and accomplishment.
