Engagement Lead, National Wilding Conifer Control Programme

Current

Wfh In Mohua Golden Bay

Four years ago I'd never heard of a wilding conifer. Now I cannot unsee them, and proud to be supporting the fine team at Biosecurity New Zealand to protect the best of Aotearoa from these overzealous giant weeds.Every day we are in touch with a big network around the country - our partner agencies, regional and local councils, NGOs and community group leaders, Runanga, foresters, contractors... all doing coordinated mahi in a Programme that really is a constant collaboration, and really is making progress.Engagement priorities right now include getting better at telling the story and having the data behind it; reaching more people (like me) with the facts about wilding conifers aka wilding pines; celebrating progress towards a better future for unique landscapes and species.
