Workforce Lead - Derby Wellbeing Mental Health Team
Derby, England, United Kingdom
I successfully led the Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) team through the pilot and mobilisation phases of Derby Wellbeing; a complex, collaborative and ambitious programme that fully integrates VCSE, NHS, Local Authority and community partners to provide holistic mental health supportWorking within the voluntary sector and with wider partners has enabled me to shape an approach of conducting action with community groups rather than for them. I built trusting relationships with eight specialist and leading VCSE organisations to share learning, understand specific needs and barriers, and build a strong community voice in the healthcare system. I worked collaboratively with community partners including ethnic minority groups, those with disabilities and long-term illness, and areas of deprivation, resulting in the successful provision of mental health support with lived experience at its centreI coached, supervised and nourished eight Wellbeing Coaches, to build a resilient, autonomous team. I worked with NHS Service Management on the design and delivery of day-to-day operations, embedding a strengths-based approach to development and prototyping process change, which included multi-agency reflection and solution finding. I co-developed the SOP and MOU, worked on design sprints for paperwork development, and through monitoring and data collection, I established the initial VCSE KPI’s for the projectThis role galvanised my belief in working together to build stronger relationships, using strength-based practices, and nourishing a learning culture so we can work through problems to achieve positive outcomes together
