Pre Diagnostics White Goods EngineerBritish Gas Mar 2015 - Jul 2017Homebased (National Coverage)I was successful in my appliacation to be part of this new trial team that consisted of 10 engineers. the idea was to intercept customers appointments and pre diagnose the faults using our experience/knowledge along with accessing manufacturers technical information and assigning parts to the visiting engineer. This process hugely improves customer journeys and has a great impact on many KPI and NPS scores. The team started with just three of us and soon another three joined as work load demanded it. Once we expanded even further and took on the remaining engineers our team proved it success and were involved in many other projects and again demonstrated great value to the business.

I started as a trainee bandsaw welder and I soon obtained extra responsabilities, which included consumables and materials stock checking, trade counter support, delivery processing (in bound and out bound) and premise key holder. I advanced to a different department where I was responsible for planning and scheduling all work to ensure deadlines were met. I thoroughly enjoyed this role as it was fast paced and it taught me several important skills, such as time keeping/planning and communication, not to mention the technical and maintenance side of the role to ensure all machinery was kept running smoothly. During my time here I was lucky enough to train several new starters and ensure they were capable of safely carrying out the role.
