Leighton C. McComas currently serves as Operations Facilities Manager TULSA ZOO MANAGEMENT, INC.Dynamic Facilities Management | Team Leadership | Strategic Operational PlanningAs the Operations Facilities Manager, I am entrusted with overseeing the daily operations of the TZMI facilities. My primary responsibilities include effective management, problem resolution techniques, and the maintenance of proper policies and procedures. I lead a dynamic team of 12 professional tradespeople, who contribute their skills to maintain and enhance a wide range of facilities, including gardens, state-of-the-art exhibits, restaurants, and attractions. This entails managing nearly 50 buildings, 5 paid attractions, and nearly 100 pieces of fleet equipment, including 3 trains. I also oversee the maintenance of 84 acres of infrastructure, including pipes, electrical lines, data cables, and life support systems.I am dedicated to fostering a modern, systematic, and technologically forward approach to operational maintenance and construction management. My role involves facilitating seamless collaboration between contractors, engineers, vendors, and construction professionals on projects undertaken for the Tulsa Zoo.I leverage all available resources on a daily basis to ensure a safe, beautiful, and enjoyable environment for the nearly 700,000 guests who visit annually. Additionally, I work in collaboration with a diverse team of over 150 highly skilled animal care professionals, educators, and business experts to deliver a world-class experience for the Tulsa community and oversee the care of a collection of 1500 exotic species.
