Works were managed under extreme weather conditions (located on the Bay of Fundy from December to February) on a 24 hour rotation. The project involved an extensive quality management program, including QA/QC testing, blast monitoring, compaction testing and concrete testing• Coordinated with several other contractors in order to meet the project’s compressed time frame• Planned, scheduled and directed the drilling and blasting of 50,000 m3 of rock adjacent to an operating facility. Also managed the excavation of 100,000 m3 of common material; placement of 80,000 m3 of granular material; and the placement of 160,000 tonnes of aggregate materials to construct foundation excavation, roads, parking lots, lay down areas and shoreline protection• Managed the decommissioning and demolition of a 7 storey fly ash silo building, a waste oil containment structure and other infrastructure. Equipment included hydraulic shears (excavator mounted), cranes and torches• Managed the installation of 1,500 m of watermain, 500 m of storm sewer and other associated infrastructure

Total volumes for these works are as follows:• 908,000 m3 common excavation and placing• 598,000 m3 solid rock (drill, blast, excavate and place)• 1,012,000 tonnes imported fill supply and place• 41,100 m3 concrete formed and poured• 2,691,000 kg reinforcing steel supply and place• 10,300 m buried piping supply and install• 95,000 tonnes of armour stone (quarry, haul and place)• 4,700 m of rock or bundled cable anchors
