I believe that marketing is IN everything that we do, both personally and professionally.As a mother, I have realized that it is futile to try to be everything each of my children need at all times, or all at once. Moreover, that I don't always know exactly what they really need based on intuition alone, and neither do they! Similarly, a marketer must understand that it is futile to rely on intuition to become everything at all times, or for every consumer. Consumers, like children, have unique personalities and perspectives. They have a limited perception of their real problems, the rippling impact of those problems, and the infinite possibilities for finding a solution.My first objective, as a marketing operations professional, is to ingrain myself in the mind of the consumer through measurement, investigation, experimentation, and engagement. When combined, these tools open the door to innumerable opportunities to enhance the consumers relationship to our brand, products, services, and messaging.Second, I aim to explore our internal environment, and it's affect on performance. Much like children are affected by their home and social environments, our consumers are affected by the way that we structure, support, and incentivize our teams. Finally, we will use the knowledge that we have gained from mistakes and achievements to find a balance, develop innovative strategies, and drive results.In the same way that raising children is a never-ending process, so is raising your business. The same tactics that have performed for months, or even years, might prove ineffective tomorrow! You may simultaneously experience rapid growth and massive regression. The point being - we have to keep on listening, watching, questioning, experimenting, and changing.Tactics I Use to Influence Growth at Scale:MEASUREMENTThere's a saying in marketing - don't do what that you can't measure. In my professional opinion, all measurement begins with a well-structured CRM. Platform attribution analytics are often limited, bias to the platform's monetization structure, and flawed in reporting real conversions.CONTENTContent creation is often limited to the perspective of marketing departments, meanwhile other teams are more connected to the consumer and have ample experience in generating value-add.
