An experienced and well-seasoned video expert and producer based in Manchester.I have a real passion for the moving image and for storytelling. I am at heart a creative, but equally a proven and capable technologist. I have over a decade of experience in an extensive and ever evolving range of filmmaking based equipment and specialist software packages. I currently work full-time within the Faculty of Arts, Humanities & SODA at Manchester Metropolitan University as part of Technical Services. I am the Technical Manager of Digital Arts Innovation team, and collaborators managed a team of 26 technical staff.I continue to freelance as a video producer, director, camera operator, editor and specialist consultant.Thank you for visiting my profile.

Technical Manager - Digital Arts Innovation
Filmmaking & Media Technical Officer & Technical Team Leader (Digital)
As a Technical Officer, I support students and staff with all technical aspects of film, video production and post-production. I provide tailored reactive support, whilst also teaching the technical and H&S principles regarding production equipment as part of a full induction & workshop program. I offer guidance and support to the School of Art in a range of media related services. I also produce short promotional material for the School.. As part of my remit I also maintain and support the Multimedia Studio, Sound Studio and co-support 10 Editing Suites.As I Sept 2014 I assumed the position of Team Leader of Tech+ Digital. I manage a team of 3 other Technical Officer’s in the fields of Graphic Design, 3D and Video Post-Production. The department runs and operates the MacHelpBar, a student/staff facing one-stop-shop, for help and support on Apple Mac systems and numerous specialist software packages.I am fully trained and serve the MMU community as a First Aider, DSE Assessor and am licensed in the operation of PAL elevating platforms, cranes and booms.
