I am an experienced general pathologist in anatomical and clinical pathology, with over 15 years of work in cancer diagnosis and research. I began my career as a pathologist at a prominent hospital in the western part of Tehran. This hospital was renowned for its comprehensive services, catering to general, specialty, and subspecialty clinicians, making it the busiest in the region. During my tenure, I educated and supervised a team of technicians and administrators, conducted timely completion of grossing, block sections ( frozen and paraffin), staining of cytology and pathology slides and signing out of pathology reports for both inpatient and outpatient cases. Despite having only two pathologists on staff, we efficiently handled a workload of over 12,000 pathology and cytology cases annually, encompassing administrative, technical or medical tasks. Driven by my passion for advancing the field of pathology, I played a pivotal role in establishing several pathobiology and cytology departments in different medical settings prior to circumstances that led me to relocate to Canada to address my family's needs. Eager to pursue further medical education, I successfully passed the Medical Council of Canada exams and obtained certification on January 2022. At the time, my family and I were residing in Ottawa, where I pursued my academic journey at the University of Ottawa. There, I completed a master's degree in microbiology, and immunology, specializing in experimental pathology, which sharpened my laboratory techniques and knowledge. Given the urgency of the pandemic, I have swiftly transitioned into a role as a COVID case manager at the Ministry of Health since January 2021 until now. As a Case Investigator, my responsibilities included reviewing the files of COVID patients, conducting detailed interviews to correlate their clinical status with laboratory results, determining their period of communicability, and providing comprehensive education on preventive measures to curtail the spread of COVID. Additionally, I was entrusted with the task of facility investigations, focusing on high-risk establishments such as long-term care homes and residential facilities to identify patients with respiratory infectious diseases, train facility safety managers to prevent future outbreaks. As the pandemic ended, since then, I have used my medical knowledge and pathology expertise to develop medical pathology concepts and algorithms for AI Pathology companies based on the main pathology reference sources.
