I’m a reporter and currently the news editor in Argentina and Paraguay for AFP.Between 2022 and 2023, I was in charge of AFP's Digital Investigation unit in Latin America, managing more than 30 reporters fact-checking disinformation in Spanish and Brazilian Portuguese. I have almost nine years of experience as a correspondent in the U.S., where I covered elections, immigration, tech and an array of news in features and human-interest stories.In my Miami deployment, I was named Florida’s “Journalist of the Year” in Spanish by the Sunshine State Awards (2020). A native Spanish speaker, I am fluent in English and Italian with an intermediate level of Portuguese. I hold bachelors' degrees in Journalism and Literature.I am also the author of a best-selling book of essays, Lamentablemente estamos bien (Uruguay, 2008), published after my first years in journalism as a humor columnist.
