Leilani Sinclair spent 15+ years in the fields of fundraising development and communications. Her fundraising oversight enabled numerous political, corporate and nonprofit clients to execute disciplined and successful fundraising campaigns that rely on ever expanding bases of financial support.Leilani managed development and programming sponsorships for the Los Angeles Business Council from 2003 to 2019. In 2010, Leilani worked with LABC President Mary Leslie and the organization’s key leadership to establish the LABC Institute, a 501c(3) LABC-subsidiary organization dedicated to research and education campaigns around key policy and issue areas in Los Angeles.As a nonprofit management professional, Leilani helped her clients generate major gifts from top philanthropic companies and organizations including the Schmidt family’s 11th Hour Project, the Rockefeller Brothers Fund, the Hewlett Packard Foundation, the Gilbert Foundation, JP Morgan Chase Foundation, Bank of America Foundation, Vons and many more.Other successes included heading up Wendy Greuel’s successful bid for LA City Controller in 2009 that generated $1.35 million, raising $220,000 for Miguel Santiago’s election to Los Angeles Community College District Trustee, raising $250,000 in four months for Kevin de Leon for Senate 2010 primary account, as well as providing the financing for the voter-approved initiative, led by Committee to Reform LA, which extended term limits and expanded ethics reform in Los Angeles.
