Supporting research and coordination for Capitol Hill Ocean Week (CHOW), taking place June 10-12, 2014. See www.CapitolHillOceanWeek.com for more information.I made significant contributions to the creation of the entire CHOW agenda, including initial session topic decisions and content direction for twelve panel discussions, moderator and speaker selection and invitations, through to participant coordination, media outreach, and days-of support for the conference, with registered attendance of over 560 in person, and over 6000 online. Noteworthy participants included Counselor to the President John Podesta and Secretary of the Interior Sally Jewell as keynote speakers, NOAA Administrator Dr. Kathryn Sullivan, Rhode Island Senator Sheldon Whitehouse, and NBC's Anne Thompson.I also coordinated meetings of the CHOW Advisory Board, consisting of our highest level sponsors, ensuring we take into account their directional input and messaging objectives for the sessions. Other responsibilities included the preparation and coordination of materials for a hill briefing for the National Marine Sanctuary Caucus, featuring Sylvia Earle and other representatives promoting ocean resource preservation and recreation.
