Organized 18,000+ aliquot sample library by installing, populating, and maintaining Sampleware LIMS system and creating barcoding system for samples. Programmed Biomek 3000 and Tecan Evo 150 liquid handling robots for numerous assays, including Affymetrix DMET Plus assay, PicoGreen DNA concentration measurement, sample normalization, and a variety of cell culture related tasks. Proficient in performing Affymetrix DMET Plus assay. Familiar with Sequenom and pyrosequencing assays.

Duties included programming, operation, and maintenance of Biomek FX liquid handling robots; logging inbound blood and tissue samples into Nautilus LIMS system; extraction of DNA from whole blood samples; QA of DNA samples via gel electrophoresis; and allocation of samples to clients. Developed a method to accurately measure sample volume on the Biomek FX. Also experienced with use of Transgenomic Wave Systems, ABI3730 DNA Analyzer, and ThermoHybaid thermal cyclers.

Worked with Labcorp's Extractions department, part of their Occupational Testing Services division. Extracted various narcotics and other drugs from samples that have tested positive for their presence, using solid phase extraction columns as well as liquid-liquid techniques, with a 93% overall pass rate. Utilized and maintained equipment including incubators, autoclave, centrifuges, and Turbovap sample evaporation units. Mixed and prepared required reagents on a daily basis.

Input Shipping and Receiving receipts for both merchandise and textbook departments into Quartex operating system. Coordinated with department buyers, Shipping and Receiving staff, and accounting department to resolve receiving problems. Design and create advertisements using Adobe Illustrator 8.0, and coordinated publishing efforts with management staff and campus newspaper staff. Trained to serve as backup IT technician.

Worked with the In Vitro Discovery Team to perform metabolism and permeation studies needed to aid in the selection of potential medicines. Designed Gemini programs to automate permeation and protide metabolism assays. Performed weekly calibrations of Tecan Genesis liquid handling robot, prepared buffers and weighed out chemicals, ordered lab supplies and prepared compound stocks.
