Designed and established an advanced medical genetics lab for Dr. Josef Penninger, Professor of medical genetics and Director of Life Science Institute @ UBC. As technician, managed the smooth operation of the lab. Collaborating with Prof. Keng Chou, built a five-color STORM microscope, with improved color-overlapping and stabilization against thermal-drift.

Prototyped the connection of sub-micron metal contacts to carbon nanotubes using the world’s first commercially available Thermal Scanning Probe Lithography tool. Mastered a variety of cleanroom nano-fabrication techniques.

Under the supervision of Prof. Jack Sankey of McGill's Physics Department, I built an optical device and developed a feed-forward compensation algorithm that successfully stabilized a laser interferometer against reproducible mechanical vibrations. I characterized the response of the interferometer’s optical gap to a periodic impulse perturbation, built.

Under the supervision of Prof. John Bechhoefer at Simon Fraser University, I investigated the consequences of introducing a second sensor to a traditional PID control algorithm. I showed that the ‘Split-PID’ algorithm can outperform PID control loops based on one sensor. These findings were published October 17, 2014 in AIP Review of Scientific.
