I'm a Machine Learning Engineer with 10+ years of experience. I've worked with biological/genome data, recommender systems, harmful content detection, and large language models (LLMs). I've had over 500 students, including Computer Science undergrads in Brazil and U.S. college or bootcamp students in Data Science and Machine Learning.I'm on a mission at Meta to make social media safer using machine learning. Our Integrity Measurement team works hard to spot and reduce harmful content on Facebook and Instagram, protecting millions of users. We're passionate about using AI responsibly to create a better online world. In my first team, I worked with video recommendations on Facebook for new users. I created several data pipelines to set up A/B tests and check which strategies were showing more relevant content for users.I have experience with machine learning on several levels, from data cleaning and feature engineering to model training/testing/evaluation, offline and online analysis, model deployment, and monitoring.
