I apply my 20 years of experience in business administration and management, and my passion for youth development, uniformed service and ocean literacy, to support and mentor young adults from disadvantaged backgrounds. I help them to improve their skills and employability and to overcome their challenges and trauma. My background in sail training, alternative education, and maritime policy enabled me to design and deliver innovative and impactful programmes that aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals, especially SDG 4: Quality Education and SDG 14: Life Below Water. I also contributed to the advancement of knowledge and practice in this field, by attending and presenting at international conferences and forums, and by co-authoring a book chapter on ocean literacy and sail training. I am driven by the mission of empowering young people, engaging with sustainability and raising awareness of the ocean's vital role in our planet's health and well-being.
