- Lead the West coast region's AWM tax practice specializing in private equity and venture capital- Won over $2M of recurring work in 2021 from new fund launches and from competitors- Worked closely with mergers & acquisition team on complex private equity deal transactions on buy side or sell side- Handled fund and investor global information reporting, including FATCA, CRS, AEoI, and W-form review- Reviewed tax provisions for blocker corporations- Consulted on fund structuring to maximize tax efficiency and regulatory compliance- Worked with TRACK dev team to enhance and roll out proprietary software internally across the West Coast- Presented at PwC/Cooley CFO conference, guest lectured on multiple college campuses, and created & presented material for client-facing CPE-eligible webcasts

This was a fun side project where I crowdfunded the perfect number pad for accountants. It was one of the top 25% most funded projects on Kickstarter and had orders from 12 countries around the globe. The project was featured on GoingConcern.com.

At Bloomfield CFO we worked closely with attorneys and financial managers to help high net worth clients set up & maintain estate plans to maximize after-tax income, protect assets, and preserve generational wealth. I successfully defended our clients against IRS audits saving hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I reviewed staff-prepared tax returns for multi-billion dollar venture capital, private equity, and hedge funds, and also the individual fund managers. Designed and led training sessions on complex foreign, domestic, and industry-specific tax issues, and coached new hires and staff accountants. And I even got one of those cute little "green dot" awards.

My first "real" job out of college. By sheer luck, my path started in the Asset & Wealth Management industry, primarily serving venture capital, private equity, and hedge fund clients. As a shiny new associate I learned the foundational principles of Federal, state & local, and international taxes, and also worked with the PwC Private group to flow the multitude of K-1s up to the General Partners' and Managing Directors' personal tax returns.

This was my part-time job during college where I cut my teeth on QuickBooks, budgets, cash flow management, implementing internal controls, and understanding the franchise business model.

I paid my rent & most of my tuition in college playing at weddings, restaurants, corporate parties, studio recording sessions, and touring the world (U.S., U.K., and China). And I am the original bass player and founding member of the now-famous band, Imagine Dragons. I quit the band to become an accountant (yes, you read that right).
