I have done research in experimental elementary particle physics in experiments at the Lawrence Berkeley Laboratory and CERN. At Measurex Corporation (now Honeywell), I developed sensors for measuring the following properties of paper in the process of production on a paper machine: moisture, plastic coating thickness, latex coating thickness and strength. I taught poetry writing to people with terminal illnesses as member of Lifelines. In 2001, I helped found Poetry Santa Cruz and have helped put on over 300 poetry events in Santa Cruz County. In 2002, I helped found a collective small poetry press, Hummingbird Press, which has published 18 collections of poetry by poets in the Monterey Bay area. In 2003, my first collection of poems, Affection for the Unknowable was published by Hummingbird Press. In 2011, my second collection, Invented by the Night, also from Hummingbird Press, was published.My goals are to continue creating and promoting poetry events, continue publishing worthy Monterey Bay poets, and work on my third collection of poems.
