While with Cameco’s Exploration and Development Group I worked mainly at the Crow Butte ISL mine in northwest NE. My focus was the development of properties adjacent to the current mining area. In this position I planned and supervised drilling programs, ran the geophysical logging truck, mapped ore zones, calculated reserves, updated maps and databases, and assisted with minesite activities. I gained experience with AutoCAD Map 3D, Vulcan, Acquire, NeuraLog, and NeuraSection.

In this position I had a wide range of duties including: landowner contact, claim staking, drilling crew supervision during uranium exploration and well installations, drilling mud program management, sample identification and descriptions, coring and core descriptions, operation of geophysical truck (ran resistivity, SP, gamma, prompt fission neutron, and well camera), performing well integrity tests, database and records management, interpretation of geophysical logs, correlating and mapping ore fronts, creating cross sections and isopachs, calculating ore reserves, assisting with permitting activities, studying new potential project areas, reclamation work, etc… Most of my work was focused in the southern Black Hills of SD, but I also worked on projects in northeastern and central WY, and north central CO. I gained experience with Office, Micromine 2010, Surfer 8, and AutoCad LT 2010.

Worked solely as a field geologist collecting, identifying, and testing rock and soil samples during the planning and engineering phase of a proposed railroad project through SD and WY. Sampling methods included open pit excavation and subsurface drilling (split spoon sampling, shelby tube sampling, pitcher tube sampling, and rock coring) with all terrain and helicopter mobilized drilling rigs. Responsibilities ranged from the above mentioned duties to land owner contact, drilling crew supervision, and collection of data from monitoring wells and inclinometers.

Worked as a full-time seasonal employee conducting hydrologic research within the Boise National Forest, ID. I collected data from streams and watersheds that were impacted by ATV and off road vehicle use within a designated recreation area. Field data was then used to create maps and reports that determined whether ATV trails should be closed or rerouted to prevent further watershed degradation.

Junior Project Manager-Once I was promoted to Junior PM I mainly assisted with preparation of Tier Evaluation reports in accordance with Bureau of Underground Storage Tank Regulations (BUSTR) and Ohio EPA protocols.Drill Rig Geologist-Supervised drilling activities associated with site investigations, risk assessment, emergency response actions, and remedial actions. As rig geologist I was also responsible for collection, identification, and field screening of soil and rock samples during installation of monitoring wells, air sparge/vapor extraction wells, and ground water recovery wells. Drilling techniques included hollow stem auger, air rotary, mud rotary, and foam.Field Technician-Provided technical assistance with slug tests, ground water yieldtests, solid waste landfill detection monitoring, remediation systems implementation, sitesurveys, natural attenuation surveys, and free phase hydrocarbon recovery.
