Wastewater treatment plant -Heavy civil works Client: Rotorua Lakes Council and Trility NZ ltdAs a Civil Engineer and Project Manager at Fulton Hogan, I have led the delivery of the $22 million wastewater treatment plant upgrade in Rotorua, New Zealand, under an NZS 3910 contract to Trility New Zealand. The project, due for completion in early 2025, involves constructing critical structures, including an inlet pump station, screen works, lift pump station, Micro Bioreactor tank, MCC buildings, and ancillary works.Key Contributions:Tendering & Procurement: Managed tendering, planning, procurement, and contract negotiations, ensuring alignment with client requirements.Value Engineering: Led value engineering and method optimizations, reducing costs and project duration, mitigating design and consenting delays.Project Delivery: Directed a team including a Construction Manager, engineers, and OHSEQ staff, ensuring the project met and exceeded cost, quality, and safety standards.Earthworks & Enabling Works: Oversaw complex earthworks under Class B asbestos controls, high water tables, and hydrothermal conditions, and managed ground improvements, preloading, and service relocations.Contractual Oversight: Provided detailed oversight of complex project controls and contractual engagements, ensuring project success.This project demonstrates my ability to manage large-scale, complex civil engineering projects with a focus on optimization and high-quality delivery.

Water Treatment Plant Heavy Civil -Waiari WTP Client: Tauranga City CouncilContract Value 49 MillionAs the construction manager for the Waiari water treatment plant, I oversaw one of the most complex and challenging infrastructure projects in recent memory. From the initial planning stages to the final handover, I worked closely with a talented team of engineers, architects, and contractors to ensure that every aspect of the project was completed to the highest standards of quality and safety.Over the course of the project, I managed a wide range of activities, including scheduling and budgeting, stakeholder engagement, risk management, and quality control. I was also responsible for ensuring that the project complied with all relevant regulations and standards, and for coordinating the work of multiple teams across different disciplines and locations.Despite the many challenges we faced, I am proud to say that the Waiari water treatment plant was completed on time and on budget, and that it is now providing clean and safe water to the people ofTauranga. Project Engineer: Papakura to Drury Stage 1A $90 millionClient: Waka KotahiApril 2021-November 2021As project engineer for the North Bound Carriage way I have been leading the construction program and sequencing of the retaining walls earth works and culvert extensions along with building detailed methodologies and plans for constructing in a challenging narrow width access constraints. Risk identification and challenging the program and sequencing has been a key focus and have been successful to date and I managed to maintain good progress on the project.I am deeply involved in forming a strong and stable team including the construction crews and site facilities to accommodate the upcoming works.Covid level three controls and implementation of our plans have been our key focus and we have been successful to date to maintain strict controls and reporting whilst keeping our people safe and supported. Zone Manager: SH20B Early Improvements $75 millionAs zone manager, my role was to manage the safety, quality, cost and program within my respective zone whilst being the link to the wider project team and functions within. I utilized registers and schedules along with effective short regular meetings to set simple milestones and track our progress against it. My zone contained a precast bridge widening and steel pedestrian bridge addition by Civil North along with various drainage and storm water treatment devises out letting into planted swales and riprap basins on online streams.Road widening and safety barriers accommodated the new three meter shared user path and added bus lanes. Multiple challenging services was relocated and accommodated to receive the new infrastructure.Achievements: • Was awarded the Fulton Hogan energy and effort award by nomination.• Transitioned from project engineer to zone manager and lead my zone to successfully complete on time with no lost time injuries delivering a high quality product to the client.
