After studying modern languages and history at Glasgow University I graduated in Law and qualified as a solicitor. I had a very interesting career and was once described by a High Court judge as the most respected of my generation. I was frequently instructed in headline cases for headline people and many celebrities were among my clients. I was the first media spokesman for the Law Society of Scotland and I became the legal adviser News and Current Affairs for Scottish Television and ITN in Scotland. I lectured at Glasgow and Strathclyde Universities and for 16 Years I was a guest lecturer at Tulliallan Police College. I also had spells as a temporary Sheriff and a part-time Chairman of Employment Tribunals. I gave up practice altogether in 2003.I am an experienced after-dinner speaker and have spoken right across the world from North West Canada to South East Australia and on five continents. I am Dean of the Guild of Robert Burns Speakers and am a recognised expert on Robert Burns. My Immortal Memory has been referred to as "legendary"​ and by the President of the Burns Federation as the best she has ever heard, When the Scottish Parliament held its first Burns Supper the then Presiding officer invited me to propose the Immortal Memory at their event..I am a member of the Executive Committee of the Burns Federation.I held the title Scottish Wit of the Year for the years 2012 and 2015 and I am a former winner of the title Wag of the Year.My autobiography called "The Pleader" was published by Mainstream a few years ago.I am fluent in Spanish and have a working knowledge of French, Italian and Portuguese.I am also a member of the Justice for Megrahi Committee.My webpage is at www.lenmurray.co.uk
