As a Resident Assistant, I was responsible for managing a floor community of 60+ residents in Studebaker East Hall. Studebaker East provided housing primarily for international students and student - athletes. During my time as an RA, I hosted weekly events where students could connect, receive academic support, and relax. I was passionate about supporting my residents and truly make my floor feel like a home away from home. I addition to weekly social events, I planned monthly events for my residents that were oriented around safety (alcohol &safe sex), diversity, life skills, and relationship skills. As a member of my housing team, I collaborated with my fellow RAs to plan building -wide educational and social events, including leading a prom for students that missed theirs due to Covid-19 and a series where I showed residents different local businesses and activities to participate in across Muncie. My biggest accomplishment was establishing a film series program where students could attend a monthly documentary showing that was related to a social or political issues and participate in a safe discussion about the topics after wards.
