Reviewed Annual Reports for the TPDES and Waste Water Treatment Plant permits.

Providing consultative and technical multi-media assistance to small businesses and local governments; planning and conducting workshops and presentations on environmental compliance requirements; assistance with the preparation of recommendations and justifications for changes in procedures, rules, regulations, or program guidelines; participating in Communications projects and the Compliance Commitment (C2) Program. For the C2 Program, my specific duties include: providing backup to the project lead; performing tasks necessary to verify compliance history of a facility in order to determine eligibility; issuing work orders within 24 hours of receipt; and providing technical support for the project.

Review and approval of plans and specifications by consulting with engineers on proposed construction of projects; analysis and evaluation of special conditions and situations involving environmental problems; conduction of routine compliance and complaint investigations and inspections; evaluation of best management practices for erosion/sedimentation and permanent pollution control; identifying violations for non-compliance with state regulations and preparing reports for enforcement actions; preparation of technical reports and recommendations based on conditions observed; providing on-call emergency spill response to ensure proper remediation.

Throughout my internship I worked on many important projects. Notably, I assisted in extensive research to determine changes to the Best Available Control Technology (BACT) in order to find more stringent controls so that the BACT would be current and efficient. This internship served as the most important step toward my goals, and provided me with invaluable experience in the industry.
