As a Volunteer Experience Manager my job is to support administrative volunteers throughout Monroe County. I provide support on policies, recruitment, retention, conflict resolution, professional development, and more. I examine current procedures and implement creative improvements to streamline processes for our staff and volunteers. I am also a co-chair of our Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee, which is a passion of mine.

As a Community Engagement Specialist I am in in charge of recruiting new girl and adult members to Girl Scouts. I am responsible for recruitment efforts in Livingston County, Genesee County, and parts of Orleans and Monroe Counties. I implement creative recruitment plans based upon strategic data analysis. I host themed signature recruitment events, go into schools to talk to girls, attend community festivals, and work with our Marketing department to develop new recruitment campaigns. Through my efforts, we are able to grow the Girl Scout mission.

I run afterschool Girl Scout programs in the city of Rochester for traditionally underserved girls. I plan and implement girl guided journeys and explorations of topics and issues. I also facilitate STEM lessons and traditional aspects of Girl Scout like cookie sales and badge work. My goal is to provide a Scout experience for any girl that wants to participate.

I spent two years of service at RCSD School #10. Some of my areas of focus included being a recess coach and helping students grow through healthy play. I assist kindergarten students with reading, writing, Expeditionary Learning and math intervention. I plan and teach lessons for extended day time on topics such as sign language, creative writing and gardening. I also Implemented Success Coach program, worked one-on-one with students to improve academics and attendance. With my fellow AmeriCorps member we redesigned the school cafeteria to improve its culture and student behaviors. Finally, I provide social and emotion support to students and support school staff where needed.

As an an associate in the shoe department I had many tasks. I had to maintain an organized sales floor and stockroom while meeting the needs of a diverse group of customers. I had to multitask, listen to customers needs and give options, and build relationships with returning customers to keep our department running smoothly.

I worked on a door-to-door fundraising campaign to prevent hydrofracking from coming to New Yorkwhere I honed my people and communication skills by raising awareness and protecting the environment and pubic health.

I managed 6-10 students per shift in a campus food court, trained them, and assigned them to stations. I was responsible for payroll, meetings and weekly emails. I had to ensure that everyone was adhering to food safety procedures.

I spent a summer working in the Southeast Neighborhood Service Center in the Rochester. I planned and hosted workshops. I also helped to co-found and plan the curriculum for Rochester Explorers, a pilot program taking 30 city youth and placing them in a two-year after school, job readiness and tutoring program. At the same time, I coordinated volunteer projects for RochesterCares, managed its calendar and blog. I also performed various office tasks.
