At 14, I decided I wanted to speak French fluently, and by 16, I spent five months at a French school in Paris. There, I learned an important lesson: whether mastering philosophy or a new language, true understanding thrives in close-knit connections. That sense of connection has driven me ever since.After returning to Cologne, Germany, and finishing high school, I pursued literature and linguistics in Bonn and at the Université Paris-Sorbonne, followed by cultural studies at the University of Oxford. With two master’s degrees and a background in scientific research, I’ve gained deep insights and built meaningful relationships across the globe. Being fluent in German, English, and French has enabled me to work internationally and engage with a wide range of perspectives.For the past three years, New York City has been my home base, where I first ventured into freelance journalism in 2018, conducting interviews for a book project. I moderate panel discussions on politics and culture, and I conduct interviews for both magazines and audio. I’ve also launched and continue to lead my own projects: I’m the editor-in-chief of the bilingual print magazine 'fortytwomagazine,' and the voice behind the weekly German podcast 'How I met my money.'Driven by curiosity and empathy, I aim to dig deep and uncover fresh perspectives, whether for my podcast, magazine, or other freelance work.Let’s connect!
